Photoshop Elements is based on Adobe PhotoImpact, which is a basic digital photo editor. Since Adobe PhotoImpact is the basis for the Elements version, much of the interface and user experience are common, even if some features differ. There are a number of other products which use the same or similar versions of PhotoImpact or Photoshop.

Photoshop has three different versions: CS, CC, and CC (Creative Cloud). Photoshop Elements is a follow-up to CS, whereas Photoshop is a step forward from CS to Photoshop CC. CS is the entry-level version, and CC is the professional version. CC (Creative Cloud) is a subscription-based version of Photoshop. Both Photoshop and Elements use the same system of subscription tiers, and new features are not made available to users until they upgrade to a newer version.

The basic Photoshop Elements version used to be bundled with the Creative Suite 5 (CS5) bundle of applications, also known as the Photoshop Classic Suite. This bundle was discontinued and replaced by the Creative Cloud. As a result, Photoshop Elements cannot be purchased separately anymore.

Adobe Photoshop Elements features

Basically Photoshop Elements is a digital photo editor for photographers, graphic designers, and hobbyists. It contains most of the features that you would expect to find in the professional version of Photoshop.

Adobe Photoshop Elements is a full-featured platform, not only for editing digital photos but also for adding text and creating vectors. With Photoshop Elements’ brushes, filters, actions, and blending modes, you can alter your digital photos and easily create art by hand.

Photoshop Elements provides an interface where you can easily drag and drop, apply filters, crop images, and create effects and you can also work with layers and blending modes.

In the version after CS5, some of the features were improved.

Before Adobe Photoshop Elements, it was an open source, Freeware program. Adobe released it as a commercial product but the program was created by American company Adobe Systems, and came with free upgrades for a lifetime, as long as you kept the product installed.

What’s New In?

PHILADELPHIA — If you’re planning to find “real” rap in Philadelphia on a Saturday night, February 2, don’t even think about stopping at Proudly Presents’ (3411 Woodland Ave., Philadelphia; 215-922-0255) house. You can’t just jump in and out of the main room with your critical eye; you need to sit through the first act. You can’t just go in the back and look at the merch; you need to stand in the back and look at the merch. And you can’t just put $10 on the floor and then instantly run away because the night’s headliner, D-Block (real name De’Aundre Bunch) and his Mob Figaz crew, will bang your face into the floor and tear it off. Chances are you won’t be heading back to Proudly Presents after this show. Even if you think you will, you’ll get back out of there.

D-Block and Figaz are currently the only rap crew based in Philadelphia that regularly make national headlines, earn plum spots on the lineups of national concert festivals and sound good every time they flex their chops. As detailed in an oral history I ran across about a year ago, D-Block is a 30-year-old Philly native who works for Philadelphia police, and who has been a fixture of the hardcore hip-hop scene for so long that when you hear him, you can’t help but think about Jay-Z.

Their current tour with Earl Sweatshirt has defined the last year for the duo — though so has their prolific (and successful) production work, which has earned the group a spot at the top of the 2011 XXL Freshman class. Figaz, on the other hand, has created one of hip-hop’s more promising and long-lasting careers offstage, as he’s been the musical director of the band g.o.d since 2005, directing four studio albums, three EPs and almost a half-dozen singles. Although the Philly native tells me he prefers to keep his own personal music separate from the band he manages, he still has a tight schedule and a way with a microphone that makes it hard to get him offstage.

It’s hard to predict what the 26-year-old musician is going to present for the Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta (VH1) audience, but when I found out he was playing an upcoming show at Proudly Presents,
